Music has always been close to my heart. I was brought up musically by my father and encouraged at my school to take up music seriously. Although I was disappointed with University studies in the subject, I still partake in music with a passion.
My main interest is in conducting, composing, arranging and playing music for
Brass Band. I am the Musical Director of Backworth Colliery Band 
, a 3rd section band
based in Backworth, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. I am also an orchestral tuba player and
turn my hand to playing bass guitar now and again.
